How to Split a PDF Into Single Pages — Free Methods

February 2025 · 4 min read

Whether you need to separate chapters, isolate a single page to share, or break apart a scanned multi-page document — splitting a PDF into single pages is simple and free.

Split All Pages at Once (Browser-Based)

  1. Go to PDFHub Free — Split PDF
  2. Drop or select your PDF
  3. Choose Extract all pages
  4. Click Process
  5. Download the ZIP — it contains one PDF per page, named page-001.pdf, page-002.pdf, etc.

Everything is processed locally. The ZIP is created in your browser, never on a server.

Extract a Custom Page Range

If you only need pages 3–7 as a single PDF: choose Custom range, enter 3-7, and download the result.

Understanding the Output ZIP

Files are zero-padded (page-001.pdf not page-1.pdf) to ensure correct alphabetical/sort order for 10+ pages.

Very large PDFs (200+ pages) may take several seconds. Don't navigate away while processing.

How to Recombine Pages Later

Use the Merge PDF tool — select files from the ZIP and arrange them in the desired order.
